SXSW HYPE: Crocodile

Today I want to start of with a band I know very, very little about. In fact, I’d never heard ‘em or heard of them until about an hour ago. They’re called Crocodile and they’re from Oklahoma City and they make some great, if a bit syrupy sweet, synth pop.

The thing I love most about SXSW is discovering new music; whether it’s in the weeks leading up to it by reading blogs and listening to the various feeds, or stumbling into some random show at 1 am during the festival. I began my day today by reading through my music feeds. Sched* (which has been AWESOME on so many levels this year) led me to this profile on Crocodile over at Atomic Ned.

I’ll be honest, I just hit up the mp3, really liked what I heard and went on over to MySpace to hear some more. It’s all good and now I’m excited to check them out in person. See how that works? :)

Anyway, I can’t tell you much about Crocodile. If your interested give a listen to “August is Over” and if you like, come with me to check them out!

The Bottom Line

Crocodile plays 7 pm Wednesday March 18th at Wave Rooftop (408 E 6th St).
