Mixtape Eight - Denver

I’m headed out to Web Directions North in Denver next week, with a bonus trip up to Breckenridge as well. So this one is for the Rockies!

Denver (Retired)

  • Vince Mira – Cold Hearted Woman. Known for doing a mean Johnny Cash, Vince Mira is also a pretty decent song writer himself. This is one of his originals. Oh, and he’s only 16 years old.
  • The Knux – Cappuccino. My fav new hip-hop artist in awhile. All over KEXP the last few months, for good reason.
  • Q-Tip – Life Is Better (feat. Norah Jones). Really loving the new Q-Tip. Not the same as the old Q-Tip, but quite nice!
  • Longwave – No Direction. The latest effort from Longwave is brilliant. Been in heavy rotation over here.
  • Andrew Bird – Fitz & Dizzyspells. What can I say, I love just about everything Mr. Bird does.
  • Noah and the Whale – Five Years Time. This one is a bit bittersweet, but I love the positive bits and for people who feel like they’re in limbo, there is a lot of meaning in here.
  • Matt & Kim – Daylight. A very sweet track from their latest.
  • Ra Ra Riot – Ghost Under Rocks (Passion Pit Mix). Two great things sounding great together.
  • Animal Collective – My Girls. My favorite song, so far, of a great, great album.
  • Feist and Ben Gibbard – Train Song. This one is from the forthcoming Dark Was The Night benefit album. Lots of good stuff on that one.
  • Bon Iver – Blood Bank. The new Bon Iver EP is amazing, as expected.
  • J Tillman – Laborless Land. Love this one, sort of reminds me a bit of City and Colour.
